Grand Prix badge.

A friend of me has this Triumph GP nearly finished. But as you all know the devil is in the details….He is missing a vital part: The Grand Prix badge for the register cover. A real necessity to keep the “that’s not right brigade” at bay….
I know that the badge is made from time to time…..But when you need one, no one is to be found.
Do any of you know where to find one now? Please send me a mail: stigtorb@hotmail.com

This is the one, but that one is mine! If I have a break in I know where to look first.

Freezing ?

If you are freezing in your workshop you can do some polishing…..At least you fingers get warm.
And your face don`t look so pale after a while…

“34 years with old English shite”

I guess getting old is better than the alternative. I am turning fifty soon and was not going to make much notice off it……But my friends wanted it different.
This Saturday my wife and I had been invited to my mother in law for dinner, at least that was what I thought. So my wife ordered me to get washed and dressed to look respectable quite early on Saturday afternoon.
After being tricked once, one should be wary. But I have heard that elderly people are easy to trick. That is my excuse for being tricked again…..Something similar also happened to me ten years ago.
To my big surprise a bunch of friends suddenly appeared in front of my house. It took me a while to understand that I was fooled…..And my mother in law was in on it….

No, this is not a boy band…..It is so sweet when old men sing to you…..

What a ride, a forty year old Scania bus with the destination in the route window: Ila sikring (a famous Norwegian prison).

Behind my back and my brothers, which was also tricked (Evil tongues say that my brother are only nine months and fifteen minutes older than me) an invitation with the headline: “34 years with old English shite” invited friends of us to take us brothers on a bus ride to Oslo including a show (Monty Python’s Spamalot) and some good food and a lot of drinks…..

My idea of a balanced diet is a beer in each hand. We were treated with Newcastle brown ale witch is not a random choice beverage….It is Ogris favorite drink. Ogri used to be a cartoon in Bike magazine. He had a bike called Armageddon, a 1000cc Norvin which he had built himself.

Coming back to the bus that was parked in an area in Oslo known for “working” girls, I got an offer I could resist. I was offered the use and pleasure of two girls for the price of one…….Well; I am a simple man from a small town so I soon found rescue in the bus……

We were delivered safe and sound back home at four o’clock in the morning……What can we say! A big thanks boys! From Dag and me.

Norton gearbox covers.

I have some Norton «upright» gearboxes in the workshop now. The cases need some work, welding and milling. They have all had a hard life.
I have found some spares at different auto jumbles from time to time.  The third gearbox cover, from left, I once bought in Sweden is unusual.

From left: Close ratio inter cover, “normal” Norton, mystery cover, `47 ES2 cover.

STD Norton cover.

Mystery cover marked D3T/301. I do think that it is a Norton part number. Does anybody know what it is for?

Naughty Lady in the mail

I got this Velocette badge in mail today. I must have a secret admirer….The Velocette “Naughty lady” is one of my favorite females…
