Time machine.

There is more than 25 years between these two pictures.  It is the same Guzzi, same man, same helmet, same jacket and the picture is taken at the same location.

Time sure takes its toll…..But the Guzzi Le Mans is worse for wear, it has been left outside for a few years, been hauling a sidecar and been used on salty roads during winter.

It needs a full strip down before I will relive my youth……

Maybe I need a shave?

Classic Remise Düsseldorf

 

 

This is the place to go to in Düsseldorf. Here you can have a meal and a beer among classic cars and bikes.

 

 

 

At this museum like old roundhouse for locomotives you can find workshops, related businesses, retail shops for classic car and motorcycle and sales and showrooms for classic cars. There is also a Ducati dealer there.

 

 

Owners of classic cars can rent one of the 75 completely glassed-in individual garages where they can park their cars.

The bear emerge from the den.

 

I have been out collecting bikes for the Norwegian vintage motorcycle clubs display at the motorcycle fair in Oslo next weekend.

 

 

When picking up this Guzzi I thought of something I have seen on Animal planet:

“Bears who sleep through the winter usually spend a total of about four to six months sleeping in a den that they have built. In order to use less energy, the bear’s heart rate slows down from about 70 beats per minute to about ten beats per minute. Their body temperature also lowers by about ten degrees Fahrenheit.

As the weather starts to warm back up, sleeping bears emerge from their dens! Prior to starting their winter sleep, bears gain extra weight that their bodies use for fuel during the foodless winter. – By the time spring has come around, most bears have lost about 25-45% of this extra storage! With new food now available, the bear starts the cycle over again, eating plenty all spring and summer in preparation for the coming winter!”

Moto Guzzi 500 GTS.

There is something with an unrestored bike you can`t create again. This beautiful 1936 Moto Guzzi 500 GTS are resting at Arvika Fordonsmuseum, Sweden.

 

                     From the era when detailing was important. Even on a humble IOE single.

Ducati F1

My old Ducati F1. I sold it 17 years ago…  In Norway they were only legal for one person, no passenger…….I lost my driving license for 8 months on that Ducati….Speeding.....
