The Motorcycle show.

Last weekend was very busy. I organized the Norwegian vintage motorcycle club`s display at the two yearly motorcycle show near Oslo. Here`s some photos of the display.

It is 150 km from me to the show…..So I better not forget anything.

Last night I wanted to go riding on some gravel roads. The Ariel has not been used for a long time….in fact more than a year. I remember there were some things I had to fix before going…

 

 

 

It always starts at first kick…

 

 

The speedo does not work….

 

Yes, I lost the tool box knob (and all my tools…) and replaced it with a screw. I am sure I have another somewhere….

 

 

Check the oil…..

 

 

Duct taped light switch need some work…..

 

 

No lights…loose and broken cables.

 Some hours of repair is needed. I will do that ride another day….

Mud and ice - Novemberløpet 2010

 Bikes are rolled of the trailers at first daylight. A cold but sunny day, perfect for off road riding. The frost had made the sections slipery so we where going to have an challenging ride....

It turned out to be to challenging for my ride, I had to give up halfway. I lost power and could not get the engine to rev.....I suspect the mag timing have sliped on the taper.

Machine check.

Bikes lined up in  "park fermè", not allowed to be touched until ten minutes before starting time.

 A Jawa rider splashes thru a small stream.

Lucky I had to give up halfway.......not so much washing....
I went home early so I don`t know the results.

Bambi on ice....

Today 22.10 its -6 C .....Snow, ice....Tomorrow I am doing a Vintage enduro. Have to change to winter tires on the car....going to be fun!

Trond`s 1962 Jawa 250 are making their way in the fields.

Nice and shiny before the start.
Sound`s good on straight pipes.
Dag is standing on the Ariel. Probably looking out for badgers hiding in the grass.

TÅNGARALLYT 2008

Jan Roar on he`s newly assembeld 1973 Honda XL 350. He looks ready to handle 110 km of path`s, grit roads and streams.
Still got the speed, but had some poblems with the engine sizing after a rebore and new piston. It ain`t fun if it don`t cost you some.
Looking serius!
Here we have "all rounder" Tom on he`s 1970 Ducati 450. After some point adjusting in the woods, he gained some serios speed.

vintage enduro

There are only two days before we are going to Tångarallyt in Sweden. The two bikes are ready to go. Both are ca 1954 models. The Tribsa are nearly new build, so it needed only new numbers and a wash. The Ariel needed some gearbox "adjustment" and some new mudguard steadies made. Its been used for enduros for ten years now, so some spanner work are expected.

Vintage enduro

Saturday 24. of May, Tångarallyt will be going one. That's a vintage enduro in Sweden. I will be there with this Tribsa. Been spending some evenings this week to sort it out. Had some gearbox problems, nearly lost the front wheel.......Normal braking in stuff. I have built it from spares i have collected over many years. Some spares i have "stolen" at my brothers shed, don`t think he will miss that Goldie frame and scrambler gear box......This is what i have used: Engine: 5T crank cases, 6T crank and rods, T100 cylinder and head, "tuned" concentric carb, Lucas comp magneto, total loss charging system (never fails). Cycle parts: Goldie frame, oil tank and rear wheel. Norton forks in BSA "triples". Rickman front wheel. Triumph rear mudguard with Goldie scrambler fixings. Some front mudguard in Sammy Miller fixings
