Burning Gold Star.

Eventually it looks like spring and I am a little stressed for the things I had planned to get done this winter. I am way behind schedule. I have heard that my flat track buddys have got some "new" hot engines.....So it`s time to get the dusty Goldie done.

I wantet the BSA to look like a American TT bike.

I don`t know if flames makes it go faster......But the girls like it.......I hope..

This DBD engine is genuine flat track. Raced hard in the US. It`s not so hot anymore, I had to do a lot of work to get it usable.
Still a lot on the "to do" list.....

There's no place like home ?

I meet my friends Tormod and Klaus at the Oslo Motorcycle show. Last time I saw them was two years ago at the same show, just before they started their around the world trip.
Now they have completed the journey and are at the show to tell the tale.

Why the large smiles? Tormod just realize that he has won “who can grow the longest beard in two years competition”. First prize: you don`t have to wash the bikes…..

Tires kept in safe distance for the ever present tire kickers…

Sensible modifications: Extra sturdy spokes and LED lamps.

Can the term “oily rag condition” be used?

No GPS, no digital clock, just the basics…..The riders view….

Evidence of fast cornering.

This is the first time I have seen a Nimbus projector holder.

Frame repair.

The map painted on the sidecar lid. Handy if you don`t know if the route are going left or right…..

Ariel HS Engine build up # 2

Things always take longer time than expected. Some parts was not usable and some parts was missing. And ordered spares was in back order. So i had to dig out an donor engine for some cylinder head parts.

The oil pump was worn out. So i got myself a Morgo rotary pump from my friend E Bay.....Easy...Saturday night, a few glasses of wine and internet.......and suddenly you own a brand new oil pump.

The cam has to be grinded to accept the Morgo driving nut. The left cam is ready for installation.

Pump installed and shimmed to correct clearance at the driving nut.

Some bolts missing, but the engine is almost ready for use. Have to sort out a magneto and gearbox now.

Dirty work.......

When i want to get dirty.......I tell my wife i have to work overtime....

I have a small bench polisher at work. With the face full of "polish cheese" and aluminum you need a long shower and a cold beer .......
